Nestled in the Stunning hills of Dumfries & Galloway, The Stables is a beautiful self contained cottage with large private gardens . The rear of the cottage boasts breath taking views of the un-interrupted countryside that surrounds the private garden. Plenty of space for your four legged friends to explore and enjoy.

Located just a short drive away from Gretna Green, The Stables is very popular with eloping couples from all over the UK and further afield as a wedding destination and because we are dog friendly, you get to share your special day with your pupper too :) 

If you are a guest at a wedding at Springkell, we can even help you with arranging a dog sitter while you enjoy the evening party and keep pupper safely away from the fireworks. We always advise arranging taxi and pet sitters far in advance to guarantee availability.

Perfect base for a short break

The Stables at Bankshill sits just ourside of Lockerbie within easy access of the M6 / A74(M) and West Coast Mainline from Lockerbie train station.
Due to the convenient location, it is an ideal base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. It is also very popular with guests travelling further afield to the Highlands and Islands of Northern Scotland. It is an ideal stop off point on the long journey northwards.

The Firkin Hell 

The Stables has it's own private boutique country pub - The Firkin Hell

As guests, you have full access to the Firkin Hell, a fully equipped traditional pub complete with:

- Dart Board
- Retro Games Machine
- Board Games
- TV with Chromecast

Access to the pub is free to guests Monday - Friday evenings and all weekend.
You are welcome to bring your own drinks to the Firkin Hell but we are unable to sell alcohol.
